Inhabitants of Bærum municipality can get married in Bærum. Only one of the two parts needs to reside in Bærum.
In addition, people not living in Norway – but who otherwise fulfill requirements in The Marriage Act (ekteskapsloven) chapter 1 – can get married in Bærum.
We do not have the capacity to perform wedding ceremonies for individuals who are not residents of Bærum. Exceptions are not made to this rule. Individuals who do not reside in Bærum, must contact their own municipality of reisidence, which is obligated to provide a wedding service for its citizens.
